4 Healthy Game Day Dip Recipes
Whether or not you have a dog in the fight, I think we can all agree that the Superbowl is going to be rocking this year. Without dating myself, I am pretty pumped about the halftime show—maybe even more so than the actual game. But let’s be real, it’s the party snacks that are sure to steal the show.
More often than not, most Superbowl parties are going to have the traditional chili, wings, and veggie trays, amiright? But I can’t help but feel the chips and dips are where it’s at.
I wanted to throw out some new and interesting flavors for this year’s event, and I also wanted to come up with things that were quick and easy, so I wasn’t spending all morning in the kitchen. If I have to say so myself, I think I nailed it!
While any of these can be served with traditional chips, you can also improve the health aspect while cutting calories with these chip alternatives:
- Baked Smoked Paprika Zucchini Chips
- Crisp fresh vegetables like carrots, cucumbers, peas, cauliflower, and broccoli
- Rice chips
- Sweet potato chips
Ingredients
- 1 bunch cilantro stems removed
- 4 jalapeno peppers stems removed
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- salt and pepper to taste
- crushed red pepper to taste
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender and blend until all ingredients are incorporated.
- Refrigerate or serve at room temperature.

Ingredients
- ½ cup onion diced
- 2 jalapenos diced
- 1 cup fresh spinach
- ½ tsp extra virgin olive oil
- 4 oz cream cheese softened
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- 3 tbsp hot sauce
- 3 oz grated pepper jack cheese
- 3 oz grated sharp cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Chop shrimp into small pieces (I like to cut one shrimp into three pieces, minimum)
- Sauté onion and jalapeños in olive oil over medium heat.
- Add spinach and shrimp, cooking until shrimp are opaque.
- Fold in cream cheese.
- Add butter, hot sauce, and grated cheeses.
- Stir until cheese begins to bubble.
- Enjoy!

Ingredients
- 8 oz goat cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- basil for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375F.
- Press goat cheese into the center of a baking dish, leaving roughly a one-inch border around the outside.
- Add marinara to the outer rim of the baking dish.
- Bake for 20 – 25 minutes or until the goat cheese begins to bubble.
- Garnish with basil.
- Serve and enjoy!

- 1 cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp Swerve brown sugar substitute
- 2 tsp horseradish
- ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp hot sauce
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Combine all “dip” ingredients (minus the chicken) and mix until creamy consistency is reached.
- Fold in shredded chicken.
- Serve and enjoy!
