Healthy Peach Mango Protein Sorbet Recipe

Peach Mango Sorbet Recipe

Sweet summertime is in full swing. What better way to beat the heat than with an icy cold treat? There are so many variations of homemade ice cream and sorbet, and some have a laundry list of ingredients, while others can be as simple as blended fruit or fruit juice with water. I went with a super-simple happy medium and blended a few things I had on hand, which I typically use for smoothies, and made a healthy peach mango sorbet.

Since fruit can be loaded with sugar, albeit a natural source, it’s important to select some that may be healthier. And speaking of healthier, you can also balance out the equation with some healthy protein powder. What better source of protein powder than a BioTRUST Low Carb blend?

Some combinations I have used in the past were adding frozen bananas to the Low Carb Strawberry Banana. I have added peaches to the Vanilla Cream Low Carb for a peaches and cream type of dessert. I have added berries to each of the flavors, as you really can’t go wrong with berries of any kind tossed into the mix.

I hadn’t yet tried my hand at the peach-mango flavor, so wanted to kick this one up a notch with the addition of mango to really give it a tropical feel. I would imagine if you forego the freezing, you could make this into an adult beverage of sorts with a splash of rum. It’s five o’clock somewhere. 😉

Instructions

  • Blend all ingredients in a blender or food processor until creamy.
  • Store in freezer until it reaches your desired consistency.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

Chef Note: Some other variations I have made forego the Greek yogurt and make use of heavy cream.  You could boost this up to a keto recipe by including Keto Elevate in lieu of protein, add heavy cream in place of Greek yogurt, and choose a lower carb fruit like berries, watermelon, peaches, or cantaloupe.
Chef Note: Depending on the consistency you desire, you could also add another ½ cup of Greek yogurt, or even ½ cup of Greek yogurt and ½ cup of heavy cream (or your milk of choice).
Chef Note: As mentioned in the above copy, you can mix and match with various flavors of protein and/or our Ageless Multi-Collagen or Keto Elevate with alternate fruits to create flavorful combinations of sorbet. But mango seems to be the fan favorite!
